After months of waiting, we finally departed for Australia today. We were picked 
up remarkably promptly by the SuperShuttle driver. He saw us, looked out his window 
and said, “If you’ve got Australian accents, I’ve got the right couple”. The driver was a 
character. The whole trip to the airport he kept talking and talking about his theories of 
nutrition, the proper grains to use in bread, what dogs should eat, etc. It was a good start 
to our trip!

	The fourteen hour flight passed unremarkably. After I took a sleeping pill, we hit 
some pretty major turbulence, but I was so close to being asleep that I didn’t care. I was 
able to form the thought that if I was awake, the shaking would really stress me out!
